Slasher movies
In this part of the website, I will review some slasher movies that I think are worth watching (as well as the bad ones because sometimes they are unintentionally funny!).
However, be warned that these reviews are not intended for people who did not see the movies.
Many spoilers are available in these pages! My goal is to describe the monsters and events depicted in those movies! These are not conventional movie critics!
So if you enjoy slasher movies, just choose the film of your choice below and enjoy!
American Psycho: Batman goes crazy!
American Psycho is a well-balanced film that might not please everyone, but that should be watched by every movie lovers!
Black Christmas: Forget the remake!
Unless you really enjoy suffering for no reasons, watch the original version and keep the remake in a little box, at least six feet underground.
Candyman: Good horror/thriller mix!
Don't expect a bloody movie with screaming teenagers, but rather a solid slasher film working on several levels and played by great actors!
Child's play: Scary classic!
This movie does offer some good scares and even today, some scenes are quite enjoyable to see again!
The devil's rejects: A good (bloody) road movie!
"The Devil's rejects" might not be as disturbing as Tobe Hooper's masterpiece, but it's still entertaining enough to satisfy any slasher movie lovers!
Final destination: Funny, but not scary!!
Unfortunately, as the franchise is evolving, the main interest is more about watching how a character will die than having a real scary situation.
Freddy vs Jason: The bad guy vs the bad one!
If you are a real fan of both Jason and Freddy's movies, you'll have a blast! Otherwise, it's an average entertainment, period!
Friday the 13th: Where it all started!
If you want to see where it all begins, then perhaps you should watch "Friday the 13th", the original one made back in 1980.
Hellraiser: Welcome to Hell!
"Hellraiser" is a good slasher movie involving monsters from hell, some shocking (bloody) scenes and a touch of S&M!
The Hills have Eyes: A classic? Not!
I know that this one might be considered like a classic in the eyes of some horror fans, but unfortunately, I can't share your enthusiasm for this one!
Hostel: American boys in a slaughter house!
Like the rich men in Hostel, you can take a knife and cut the movie in two distinct half. A funny one and dark and brutal one!
House of 1000 corpses: A first (honest) try for Rob Zombie!
"House of 1000 corpses" is a gory movie made on hallucinogen substances and the gore lover will be pleased with numerous shocking scenes!
Mute Witness: Nice little thriller shot in Russia!
Don't expect a gory slasher movie, but a good (and simple) thriller with a nice story and some small and interesting surprises!
Puppet Master: Skip this one please!
This movie is nothing but a big waste of time unless you really enjoy creepy puppets or weird slasher movies that are not funny or scary.
Saw: Two good movies and a lot of crap!
If you enjoy blood and sadistic tortures, chances are that you will love this franchise! Otherwise, don't expect amazing screenplays except for the original movie!
Se7en: What a serial killer movie should be!
A great masterpiece that should set the standard for any serial killer movies involving shocking scenes or a puzzle based scenario!
The Shinning: Here's Johnnyyyyy!
The perfect movie if you are looking for terror, suspense, and blood, all mixed with a drop of insanity and weird phenomenon!
Sleepy Hollow: Don't be afraid to lose your head!
"Sleepy Hollow" is a dark and intense movie backed by a solid script and a very talented cast that is worth watching even if you don't enjoy creepy movies!
Suspiria: A classic from Argento!
This movie is still considered a classic, but it does have major flaws that prevent Argento's film from being a masterpiece!
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre: Raw and repulsive!
It's a movie that feels terribly genuine and raw! The best example of what a perfect slasher movie should look like!
Urban Legend: Same old recipe!
If you enjoy teenage slasher movies with lots of blood, then you might have a blast! Otherwise, stay away from it!
Wolf Creek: Shorter would be better!
It's not a bad thing that this one is different from most slasher movies, but it doesn't mean it's better either!
