Evil dead 2 movie review:

This one could easily be described as follow: This movie is a sequel with more laughs, more action, more gore and more... budget!

The premise of this second part of the evil dead trilogy is pretty similar to the one of the first movie: some survivors of the first movie are trapped (again) with some strangers in a cabin while evil forces are striking all around the place.

However, the similarities between both movies ends there! The first installment of this trilogy was terrifying and loaded with disturbing images.

The second one looks more like a live comic book version of the first movie! Does it make it worse? Of course not! It's still Sam Raimi (the creator of the Spiderman trilogy) who's directing this film after all!

While you should not expect to be scared by this one, you should at least have a blast seeing the creativity of Raimi at work!

Some shots are coming straight out of comic book (just think of the eye popping out of the zombie's face and flying around!) while some scenes are instants classic (the evil hand!).

It's enjoyable for the fan to see Sam Raimi's early work now that the Spiderman trilogy is done! He was already very talented back then!

The first 20 minutes of the movie are totally crazy. The pace of the movie is very good and you never get bored while watching this film!

Since the third installment (Army of darkness) is closer to a comedy than a real horror movie, it seems logical that the second one would follow this path!

It's not quite a horror movie, but you can say it's a pure comedy either!

Bruce Campbell, who did an honest job in the first Evil dead, is doing a very impressive work in this sequel!

The part is extremely physical and demanding. Just seeing him fight with his own hand is a must! It's hard to imagine someone else playing Ash with such energy and conviction!

Overall, if you feel like watching a fun and entertaining horror (and comedy) movie, this one should be on the top of your list.

After 25 years or so, the Evil dead trilogy is still fun to watch, and this second installment is satisfying enough for the amateur of bloody movie!
